Adhas (अधस्, Adhas) = down
Mukha (मुख, Mukha) = Face
shvana (श्वान, śvāna) = Dog
Asana (आसन, Āsana) = Position, Posture, Pose
Adho-Mukha-Shvanasana (अधोमुखश्वानासन, Adho-Mukha-Śvānāsana) = downward-facing-Dog Posture
